That's an opinion question but I would say so- we become dependent on anything new and progress is not always a good thing. If you compare quality of life 100 years ago to today, I think it was far superior without all the gadgets. We should start thinking about how we want to live before we decide if progress is worth it. Now if the grid goes down, it's total anarchy and we used to get by quite easily without it.
