I would get a Fire Pokemon just in case. You could get Ponyta, Rapidash, or Flareon (you can get this by using a Fire Stone on an Eevee). You can't get Chimchar (evolves into Monferno, then Infernape) because you only get it at the beginning of the game where you can choose from Turtwig (evolves into Grotle and then Torterra) or Piplup (evolves into Prinplup, then Empoleon.)

∙ 12y agoYour team is too weak to Ice and Dragon, you should replace Garchomp with a Gallade.
(improved) if you teach garchomp a dragon type move that's strong, like Draco meteor, outrage or even dragon rush, and teach another one a fire type move, you should be in good shape

∙ 9y agoA good team is reliant on more than just the Pokemon. There are other factors that you have to consider, which includes your Pokemon's natures, their movesets, their hold items, their EVs, and their IVs.

I advise that you check out www.Pokemon.marriland.com, and select the Pokemon platinum pokedex and you can browse some of the Pokemon. Also you can check out www.serebii.net and that will give you some good info too. I myself recommend using Pokemon with decent attack or decent sp.atk, such as garchomp, gengar, alakazam, and if you want a powerful sweeper, choose chimchar as a starter. I would also avoid using more than one of the same type in your team, then you can has more variations and you will be strong against more types. My favourite and most used Platinum team is as follows: Infernape Staraptor Machamp Magnezone Garchomp Gyarados

you have a good team...it would have helped to put the moves... it seems you favour your infernape based on how much higher the level is from the other Pokemon, so work on your other Pokemon and don't put infernape to battle unless it's mandatory
