No, he is not. His father was born a Muslim, but eventually turned away from it and became an atheist. His mother was a non-practicing Christian. The president has said he was raised in a home that was both ethical and spiritual, but he was not raised in either Christianity or Islam when he was growing up; there is, however, evidence that his grandparents, who helped to raise him, introduced him to Protestant Christianity, and when he got older, that was the religious path he chose.
