Vicodin contains two drugs: Hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Hydrocodone, a derivative of opium, is an opiate analgesic; acetaminophen is an analgesic. This medication is classed in the opiate family because of it's hydrocodone component.

Will levorphanol get you high?
My pain management doctor was part of a pain fellowship in San Francisco. He found that levorphanol can be used for pain in recovering addicts much more safely than hydrocodone or oxycodone. As a recovering addict, I found that levorphanol does not produce the euphoria that I had with Vicodin and Percocet / Oxycotin. I've been able to use levorphanol for over a year without increasing my dosage (on my own) or experiencing any side effects - there is simply no incentive for me to abuse this drug. It gave me back the ability to walk without pain and gave me back my life.

The code is just part of an ID system. There is a website, drugs.com, and it has a pill search area where you can type in the imprint on the pill and it will tell you what it is (or just google it). Different companies often make their own (generic) variations for the same drug. M357 pills are made by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Pills of the same strength (5/500) are available from Watson Pharmaceuticals, they are Watson 349 pills.
