Vicodin contains two drugs: Hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Hydrocodone, a derivative of opium, is an opiate analgesic; acetaminophen is an analgesic. This medication is classed in the opiate family because of it's hydrocodone component.

Will hydrocodone show up in a drug test?

Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid found in brand name medications like Vicodin, Norco, Lortab, and Lorcet. Hydrocodone is always combined with another drug, typically acetaminophen which is found in the examples listed above. Hydrocodone is not an opiate and will not be detected on an opiate test. Opiates only refer to naturally occurring opiate alkaloids, primarily morphine and codeine. However heroin will also be detected in an opiate drug test because it turns into morphine. A specific test is required to detect semi-synthetic opioid's like hydrocodone and oxycodone or synthetic opioids like methadone or Demerol (pethidine). So if hydrocodone is tested for (and it is not routinely tested for) it will be positive for hydrocodone.

What are the ingredients in hydrocodone?

The drug hydrocodone is an opiate. It is a form of opium.

Will levorphanol get you high?

My pain management doctor was part of a pain fellowship in San Francisco. He found that levorphanol can be used for pain in recovering addicts much more safely than hydrocodone or oxycodone. As a recovering addict, I found that levorphanol does not produce the euphoria that I had with Vicodin and Percocet / Oxycotin. I've been able to use levorphanol for over a year without increasing my dosage (on my own) or experiencing any side effects - there is simply no incentive for me to abuse this drug. It gave me back the ability to walk without pain and gave me back my life.

Is toradol stronger than hydrocodone?

I suppose it technically depends on the type of pain, and the respective dosages, but just based on the fact that hydrocodone is an opiate, and ketorolac (toradol) is not, for the most part, hydrocodone is going to be stronger. Also hydrocodone as prescribed (in the US) includes a good amount of acetaminophen, which adds to its increased efficacy.

How do you separate the hydrocodone to shoot it?

You don't. You go to college and become a respectable part of society.

Is M357 a name or a type of Vicodin?

M357 is the engraving on a 5/500 Vicodin pill. It is the same type as the others, but the dosage is 5mg hydrocodone, 500mg acetaminophen (tylenol). Another example is Watson 540, which is 10/500. The code is just part of an ID system. There is a website, drugs.com, and it has a pill search area where you can type in the imprint on the pill and it will tell you what it is (or just google it). Different companies often make their own (generic) variations for the same drug. M357 pills are made by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Pills of the same strength (5/500) are available from Watson Pharmaceuticals, they are Watson 349 pills.

Will oxycodone show up as methadone on a urine test?

No, it shows up as morphine, which what an opiate screen looks for, along with codeine, and both of their metabolites. Oxycodone does not show up in a standard opiate screen, but with its recent notoriety, is sometimes also tested for.

Can you pass a drug test with a flush after taking hydrocodone?

Despite the claims of many herbal preparations and snake-oil salesmen, there is no "flush" that will clear hydrocodone from your body faster than normal. Hydrocodone is a prescription item. As part of a drug screen you should be asked which drugs have been legally prescribed for you.
