No. You can only group chat / participate in a conference if you download the Yahoo Messenger application.
i don't now
It means that you are available for chat groups
By deault, when you log in, you are already signed into chat. If a fellow Yahoo! buddy is online, they will show up in our contacts list. Just click their name to chat with them.
Gmail is actually better than Yahoo Mail. But, Yahoo Messenger (Yahoo Chat) is better than Google Talk (Gmail Chat). I personally like to use Yahoo!because of its simlicity. It is also better known. And yes, the yahoo Chat is better than Gmails. Google also is too high of an over acheiver. It has too many things coming out.
Ok well Yahoo mail is mail. Your average mail. Just like gmail and aol. Yahoo Messenger is like aim or any other chat version of aim. If you go on MEEBO.COM you will see you can sign into many chats such as yahoo messenger or aim. Get it?
If you have the New Yahoo Mail with chat and the desktop Yahoo Messenger, you cannot be signed in to both. When Yahoo detects that you're already signed into Yahoo Mail with chat and you sign in to your Yahoo Messenger on your desktop, Yahoo will disconnect you. That's why you get that message that you are signed in to another computer. You must disable chat in your Yahoo Mail if you want to use your desktop Yahoo Messenger, by doing the following: See the smiley face next to your user name at the top of the mail page? Click it - then click Sign out of chat. (If you never signed in, the face is gray and sleeping...meaning you're already signed out/disabled.) Since Yahoo! Mail remembers your settings from session to session, you'll be signed out of chat until you change it. Yahoo! Messenger desktop application users: If we detect that you're already signed into Messenger, we'll just quietly not sign you into chat - we don't want to interrupt what you're already doing. Of course, you can always change your status from the menu. Signing into chat will sign you out of Messenger
No, and Yahoo has a weird way of servicing its chat users. Yahoo Messenger holds its own chat history, while Yahoo Web Messenger (the Flash-based one) holds another chat history if you use it. Neither Yahoo Messenger nor Yahoo Web Messenger sync between each other to preserve chat history between sessions, and that Yahoo Mail has a chat feature that doesn't allow you the option of saving a chat history AT ALL makes one wonder about their competence.
