I am having this problem but with magnesium causing anxiety attacks. Magnesium is supose to help get rid of anxiety but for me it is opposite. The pills I take are 400 mg of Magnesium and also have vitamin b.
I don't know the answer to this question but here is what the Mayo clinic says about B6, "Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is required for the synthesis of the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine and for myelin formation" so if it does these things I would personally assume that it couldn't hurt to include it in a regimen to which I would add 5-htp, magnesium, Sam-E, and/or St. John's Wort. I personally would try to have that b6 in a b complex in addition to gradually taking more and more magnesium till I built up to 750 mg a day (too fast and you get diarhea) and then gradually try the other items mentioned above in varying amounts and combinations till I discovered what worked best for me along with breathing exercises, aerobic exercise, meditation aided by holosync cd's and if still necessary I would add the Attacking Anxiety and Depression program by Lucinda Bassett. I think most anxiety and depression can be ended with proper supplementation, nutrition, meditation and exercise. A raw vegetarian diet (Google it) which also includes daily green smoothies as taught by Victoria Boutenko can be a cure in itself if one is able to implement it.
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 has a function in the in vivo antioxidant defense of plants. The antioxidant activity of vitamin B6 inferred from in vitro studies is confirmed in planta. Together with the finding that chloroplasts contain vitamin B6 compounds, vitamin B6 functions as a photoprotector that limits 1O2 accumulation in high light and prevents 1O2-mediated oxidative damage.
