I don't think Winamp converts all your mp3 files. Your computer just shows them as winamp files now. They're still mp3 but your computer just sees em as winamp. My comp has the same thing. I don't know how to undo the computer seeing em as winamp, but there should be no problem using those files as regular mp3 files.

There are other software which you can use to transfer mp3 to ipod. I used to use winamp.
Try a freeware program called Winamp
To convert files to mp3 format in winamp, select the files in the media library. After the files are selected right click the files and select send to file converter. From the settings in file converter select mp3 encoder. Adding further you can easily use any of the media converter, and covert the files quiet avidly
if its an I-Pod and you use windows you can use winamp to copy music to your computer if its an I-pod and your using mac OS you can use music rescue to copy music from an iPod to your computer if its any other mp3 player you can just use any program other than itunes (winamp is great if you use windows)
Winamp may have installed incorrectly or been mis-associated, and either is trying to play them wrong, or damaged your music codecs. MP3 is actually short for MPEG 2 Layer 3, so your computer is not technically mis-identifying them. Try re-downloading Winamp, or downloading and installing a different player.
software =windows media player = winamp =itunes player hardware =ipod =creative player =nokia phone
you can download cool pro edit... or winamp....
Put it into disk mode. Don't like iTunes? Use Winamp it can now sync with an ipod but the only downside is no mp3 files allowed
Winamp was created on 1997-04-21.
