The copyright page of the book itself is the best source. Others are Amazon, WorldCat, and the national library of the country in which it was first published.
There may be other references to dates in the book itself. If not, you may search for it in the catalog of the national library, on WorldCat, or even on Amazon to see what others list as the publication date.
The copyright date is normally found on the reverse of the title page. It can also be found in WorldCat or individual library catalogs, and the Copyright Office database. (It's 2003.)

I read a book that was published in 30 countries. I searched the book on WorldCat.org and I found 25 of the countries. I think WorldCat is the best site I've known regarding books, but I wonder if I can find a better site which enables me to find all the countries.
