Not particularly - yogurt is a dairy product and it can exacerbate the diarrhea by adding a lactose-intolerance component on top of the pre-existing diarrhea. A better option is no salt added beets or pumpkin - a small amount of this in the dog's food can help increase the soluble fiber which tends to help resolve diarrhea.

∙ 13y agoPro-biotic (live) yoghurt is perfectly fine for both cats and dogs. Natural "live" yoghurt promotes healthy stomach and intestine flora. Many dog owners give their dogs a little of this yoghurt for upset stomachs. Cats can also eat pro-biotic yoghurt as it contains very little lactose in, unlike all other yoghurts.
It is a not a good idea to feed any other type of yoghurt. Flavoured and non "live" yoghurts often contain sugar and preservatives which does not benefit the health of the cat or dog. Most cats are lactose intolerant so feeding these types of yoghurt will often cause a stomach upset and diarrhoea.

∙ 11y agoYogurt is a milk product and so contains lactose and lactic acid. Once they are weaned, cats, like most animals, lose the enzyme that allows them to process lactose. While some cats like yogurt, many cats suffer digestion problems with any milk products because they are effectively lactose intolerant.
