A 50 dollar bill needs to be printed before 1920 to fetch a lot of money in this market. Bills before this can be worth hundreds or even thousands more than face value.

It was so different because it was double stamped. That's is about all I know. That's what makes it worth a lot more today.
To the best of my knowledge, a circulated 1963 the dollar bill should be worth about $15.00 as of 2/2009. A bill that has not yet been circulated may be worth more, maybe up to $25.00.
