it could of been sleeping under the water bottle but if not that bring it to the vets to see wats wrong
it would look like just normal wet hair, which is normal because , like cats, they wash them selves up, including the tail! its normal.
Self Defence in the wild = When a predator got the gerbil the gerbil losses hair on tail and if needed the tail pops of so the predator will eat the tail and the gerbil will get a chance to run away ,its like with a leopard gecko
yes, just the same as a gerbil can make us sick.
Only if you hold by the very tip. Other wise, your gerbil won't be hurt by you holding it by its tail.
yes
yes
Take it to your vet!
A sick or ill baby gerbil looks normal...Sometimes. BUT, if they hardly move a lot, don't nurse, and their exposed skin becomes pale and/or scaley; that shows they are sick. Sick baby gerbils also let loose a lot of mucus from their noses. Feel the babies nose to see if it is wet. Baby gerbils that are sick also tend to drool.
Actually no yorkers don't have health problem except if the nose is dry and it doesn't wag its tail then its sick and sad.If it has a dry nose only and wagged tail its happy but sick . If it has wet nose and not wagged tail its not sick but its not happy either . And of course you know that when it has a wet nose and has a wagged tail its not sick its happy and its fine . By the way for the little girls who are my age to get jealous this was written by a fourth grader and a 10th year old girl :) :p
by its tail or if the gerbil is calm u can just pic it up by its sides it wont bite
Wet tail is a condition exclusively to rodents, so a house cat cannot get wet tail.
Put it on the naughty chair
