It really depends on how fast your going. If your in bumper to bumper traffic, then sure why not. If your cruisin' 60-70 MPH then no way. Your just askin for trouble. FYI, in case no one told you, runnin in high four is gonna use more gas than high two. -SCRAIG
dont drive dont drive
If stick shift jumps outta second gear is it okay to drive the car?
a patched tire can be safe to drive on for short periods of time, but shouldn't be driven at highway speeds as they aren't as safe
A safe thing to do while driving on long, straight stretches of highway on a sunny day?
The problem may be the module that shifts the transmition from gear to gear. Is the car in second gear only? If so its in a safe mode so you can still drive it off a highway if needed. This also happens when the speedometer sensor goes bad and the transmition doesnt know when to shift. I had this happen on a highway and it cost about $350.00 for the fix. Replaced the module and speed sensor. Good luck
Sure, it's safe to drive it to the closest tire repair shop that doesn't require you to get on the highway.
No! It is not Okay, nor is it safe!
Yes if you take it easy, have good tires, and be able to carry at least one spare. It's a good couple hundred miles of loose gravel.
Not knowing how bad the bearing is, I can't say how long it will last before the wheel falls off. Drive to your local garage for repair and don't take the highway.
yesterday the band started slipping on transmission and it kept getting worse. I don't live near dealers maintenance department. is it safe to drive? it seems to be getting worse. the car jerks every time it goes into third gear.
The Chevy Traverse is safe to drive as it has passed all the statutory safety requirements in order for it to be sold in the first place. In addition, it has been a top 5 Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and has achieved rare 5-Star overall crash worthiness rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Your vehicle is probably in "fail safe" mode. I would have the pcm/tcm scanned.
