Not directly, but given that mangers were in barns or stables, and he was laid in the manger, he kind of had to be there, didn't he?

Luke 2:6-7 (King James Version) 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

No Jesus was not. Most homes in Bethlehem brought their animals into a part of the house for the night to protect them. So there would be a manger there to feed them.

Additionally The term "inn" is mistranslated from the Greek and should read "guestroom". This really shows that the extra room ( the guestroom ) was full so they had to stay in the main part of the house. And right next to the room with the animals and there fore the little manger. There was no inn involved, it was a regular house that had a lot of people in it so it was full.

Im not critisicing but I just want to share my opinon. The Bible says that Joseph and Mary couldn't get in the inn because ther wasnt room. I belive that Jesus was born in a barn because there was sheperdes and all. But also this other answser is right about the house. In those days they kept there animals downstairs so that the heat from the animals would rise and heat the house. that's just what I think. I mnot putting anyone down.

-----The Bible is right about the word inn and not guestroom. Why? Joseph took Mary with him to Bethlehem to pay taxes. St. Luke 2: 1-5. I'm going to quote St. Luke 2:5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. While they were there, Mary went into labor. St. Luke 2:6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

They tried to get a room at the inn, but it was full. As I have said before, inn is the right word and not guestroom. Think about it and ask yourself why would Mary and Joseph need to be in a guestroom, just so their baby could have somewhere to sleep? And if they were staying in a main room of a house, wouldn't that be classified as the living room? So, why would they need to go to the animal's room to find Jesus a sleeping spot, when he could have easily been placed between them on their bed or at least in the front of Mary?

Oh and another thing, Jesus had to be delivered somewhere and if he was delivered in this house that someone is trying to make people believe he was, then why would the owner of the house, not offer a newly mother a room and bed? Clearly, the people that took Mary and Joseph in would have been nice enough to make sure that Mary was comfortable. A good host would give up their bedroom.

Luke 2: 8-12 clearly shows that Mary, Joseph and Jesus weren't in a house.

St. Luke 2: 8 (King James Version) And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came unto them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold. I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

12. And this is a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Verse 12 is a key scripture. The angel gave the shepherds a sign to be looking for and what was that sign? That they would find Jesus wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

The Angel did not tell the shepherds they will find Jesus in a house, but a manger. Where do you think shepherds knew where to look for a manger? Surely not at someone house.

Was Jesus born in a barn?

From the story in Luke 2:1-7 we surmise that Jesus was born in a stable, or a barn if you like, as we are told that Mary wrapped Jesus in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger. A manger is a feed trough that is most commonly found in a structure that is used for animals. Some tradition says that the stable or barn was actually a cave that was used as a place to keep animals for a short period of time.

Was Jesus Christ born in a stable?

In the book of Luke, it explains that Mary put Jesus in a manger after he was born, because there was no room for them in the inn in town. The shepherds were told by an angel that the Messiah had been born and that they would find him, a baby lying in a manger, which they did. A manger is a type of rack to hold food for animals, which would usually be found in some type of shelter for animals, such as a stable.

How did you enter a manger in the time of the birth of Jesus Christ?

Jesus was born in a stable or a place that was used to keep animals like donkeys etc. There was a manger in the stable and this was used to put food for the animals, like hay, oats etc. The only way to enter a manger was to crawl into it or have someone lay you in it. The stable on the other hand had a door way and you walked in.

What was in the stable when Jesus was born?

AnswerIn Luke's Gospel, Mary and Joseph travelled from Nazareth to Bethlehem for a census. When they found no room in the inn, they stayed in a stable, where Jesus was born (Luke 2:7). In Matthew's Gospel, this was not necessary because Bethlehem was already the home town of Mary and Joseph, and they had a house (Matthew 2:11).
