As Japan was the only industrial country in S.E Asia Japan sufferd the most!

at the time Japan exported silk to America, as this was seen as a 'luxury item' many Americans stopped purchasing it!

small farmers that specialised in this area were hit the hardest, and there was vast unemployment due to this

factories closed, people starved and thousands died due to homelessness and starvation

the Japanese government fell from a recently made Democracy into a military koo

the military gained more power over the years and assassinated polticians that disagreed with them.

In Japan the depression threatened to collapse the whole country's industry. It led the Japanese to invade Manchuria, a part of China. Hope that helps.
