Traditionally people in Japan will eat something called a Christmas Cake on Christmas. A white cake with white frosting and red accents. But it is not eaten just for dinner, but as a treat. Christmas is not celebrated in Japan as it is in the U.S.
The tradition of Christmas Cake was brought to Japan by the Portuguese. It is usually eaten on Christmas Eve. The Japanese also use it as an unflattering analogy of single women. After December 25, the cake is not wanted and after the age of 25, single women aren't wanted.
There is really no traditional Christmas Day meal, though Japanese people usually do buy (generally a strawberry shortcake) Christmas cake.
