James Henry Northrop invented the first fully automatic weaving loom. His invention of the weft replenishment mechanism - allowed weavers to oversee 10 + looms. The weft replenishment "battery" housed 18 pirn bobbins which the replenishment mechanism to automatically ejected the spent lien and replaced it with a new one with the loom stopping.
