Judaism gave rise to a number of different religious movements. Christianity is the most prominent religious movement that came out of Judaism, but the primary text of Islam is also based off of the scriptures of both Judaism and Christianity. In addition to textual similarities, Islam also shares certain practices with Judaism, such as cleanliness and dietary laws. It should be noted, however, that modern Judaism differs greatly from Biblical Judaism, presently having three main sects and a number of other sub-sects. The Baha'i faith also draws somewhat from Judaism (particularly the messianic aspects), as it does from most major world religions.

Although there are far fewer Jews than there are Christians, Muslims and Hindus (about 13.1 million Jews compared to a possible 2.5 billion Christians, 1.7 billion Muslims and a billion Hindus), Jews can be found in (almost) every nation on the planet and Judaism has had an enormous effect on human culture - as an example, Western law is based on Judaeo-Christian law as found in The Bible (and Christian law is, of course, vased on Judaic law). As such and despite its relatively few followers, Judaism is considered to be a major world religion.
