Just acquired a 2000 limited WJ all appears to work except the OD cut of button It does not seem to move switch or anything No panel light How should it work and where do you look for faults?

The OD of switch is a simple on/off switch input to the engine computer. You should be able to check it for a 5v feed and see if it has continuity when pressing switch.
