Be sure that it's really white smoke. White smoke indicates coolant/water. Blue smoke is oil burning. Black is transmission or brake fluids.

Next, is the smoke from the hood or the exhaust? If it's under the hood then maybe you spilled some oil on the engine during the refill. Out of the exhaust, hmmm........

possible blown head gasket. I don't get white smoke from my exhaust! is it from yours? If it is just after you start your car it is normal.

Why is there white smoke after oil was added on a Honda Accord LX?

White smoke does not come from oil, white smoke means that there is water burning. Not good news as that is usually indictive of a head gasket failure. When you poured the oil in you just stirred up the water. Oil smoke is blue.

Why is there still white smoke coming from your exhaust of a 1993 Mitsubishi Diamante when you just had the engine replaced?

Or someone didn't do a proper job on the repacement engine and you've got a leaky head gasket.Answer"Stuff" is still in the muffler and exhaust system.Thick white smoke can also be the transmission oil being sucked to the engine. check your transmission oil as well.

Why is your john deere 2440 blowing white smoke will backfire sometimes and will emit a puff of smoke then run ok.?

White smoke is usually a symptom of a bad head gasket leaking coolant into the cylinder. If the white smoke stops after it warms up it could just be condensation from sitting for a while.

Just replaced the intake manifold gaskets on a 91 Chevy Suburban and its blowing out white smoke Can you get white smoke from changing the intake gaskets incorrectly or is it another problem?

Yes it can leak water through the intake gasket into the runners in the head and smoke white, But the water ports and intake runners are a long way from each other because of the design. SO I would say that you have a cracked head are bad head gasket that is making it smoke. Did you get the engine hot are over heat it ? If so then you have a head gasket or head problem not an intake problem.

Just had a gasket replaced in my engine and all of a sudden white smoke is coming from my engine and I am loosing engine coolant no burning smell though what could it be?

Sounds like head gasket is leaking allowing coolant into combustion chamber

Yesterday you just had your oil changed in your 2007 mustang GT This morning a puff of white smoke came out the exhaust as you started it No smoke afterwards Why did it do that?

White smoke in the exhaust means water is being burned in the engine. A small puff of white smoke the first time you start a car in the morning is normal. Water condenses in the intake, and engine and when you firsts start the engine it burns off producing a puff of white smoke. It is nothing to concern yourself with unless the car is constantly blowing white smoke.

What is very bad white smoke from the exhaust of your Renault scenic?

Typically, white smoke after sitting over night is just steam from condensation or moisture in the air. However, thick white smoke while at operating temp is an indication that you are burning anti-freeze. You may have a blown head gasket if this is the case. Over filling oil can cause a white/blue smoke as well.
