I have run into this twice before, and it DOEShappen. There is not much you can do because there is no adjustment or way to shim this item. But look at the alignment of the belt on the pully and all pullys to be sure it's the alt. causing this squeal. You should return it to the store for replacement and dont let them tell you "it's the tensioner" or "the belt is worn out". I have replaced both of those and still no change. The pully is probably on too far. If they wont trade out with you, ask for your money back and a core alt. so you can go somewhere and get a good part, or, you can try to shim the pully by making a shim from some thin metal or grinding a washer to thin it down, but there is no guarantee that this will work or for how long. The parts store has you over a barrel and keep going back until they get it right. Good luck.....
check your battery or you spark plugs
Replaced alternator now belts are squeeling. How do you stop the squiling are the belts to lose or to tight?
"was having charging system problem so alternator was replaced now car keeps flooding and won`t fire.
many bad mechanics will put belts on tighter than specs or even ignoring specs thinking that a new belt should stretch which is wrong. Take your mr2 back to them, what you are hearing is the bearings in your alternator screaming bloody murder and from now on only take your mr2 to someone who is experienced with the Toyota mr2, it is an easy car for bad mechanics to screw up
The alternator is not charging the battery, therefore, the coil is getting it's charge only from the battery.
It probably isn't the alternator since it only happens when you turn the car tightly. Usually that would be caused by the steering hydraulic system due to a worn rack and pinion gear or power steering pump.
Just changed the alternator on my 2000 vw golf and now can't get the alternator belt back on - any suggestions?
How long until you're going to want to have to replace the battery too?A bad alternator is death to the battery - don't wait - do the repair now.
low dip beam faaliure means you need to replace the bulbs. They may have blown when alternator went up.
could be the alternator or starter sounds like the alternator if the battery is gone flat get the alternator tested at auto parts or garage jump charging the battery might get you out of trouble for a bit
Electrical "Problems" Following Replacement of AlternatorUsually this is an indication that the electrical wiring system is "screwed up."Either there was an existing problem, leading to the need to replace the alternator, OR whoever changed the alternator screwed up the wiring.
Battery is dead?
