Ketostix comes up negative what does this mean?

I had been on Atkins Induction for four days and tried a Ketostix, it came out negative. Can you tell me why? First off, I will tell you about myself so it may help you to answer. Every day I have to drink a medication called Enulose which is a sugar(it helps the bowels). I called the company that makes it and they said that my dose was 28 carbs. I just round it to 30/day. On the few days before I tried the Ketostix and those few days themselves, I had less than 40 carbs everyday, closer actually to 31-35 carbs/day. I drink 96 ounces of water/day. I don't eat a lot of fat but I do eat some. I have an exercise routine 6 mornings a week, sometimes I exercise at night as well. After my 96 ounces of water is done for the day, I drink over two liter's of diet rite/day. There are no carbs, calories or caffiene in it. I take my urine first thing in the morning and it is absolutely, 100% negative. Why and how could this be? The reason I told you my history of the diet is because I hear rumors that the stix work this way and that way depending on the water you drink, the fat you eat and how much exercise you do, any truth to any of this? What can I do to get a positive reading? Back in 2004 I was also doing this diet(without the Ketostix) and lost over 30 pounds, so I must be doing something right and I was on the Enulose at that time as well, same dose. What can I do? I really get discouraged when I see that negative each morning. Some people tell me I should wait until four days after starting the diet to do the Ketostix, tell me any facts about all of this as soon as possible please?
