There are five kinds of biomes. These are aquatics, grasslands, deserts, forests and tundra. They are classified by vegetation native to the biome as well as the ability of organisms in the biome to adapt. Aquatics make up for the largest part of the biosphere, with about 75% of the earth consisting of water. Grasslands are divided into savannahs and temperate grasslands. Deserts have low rainfall and cover one fifth of the earths surface. Forests occupy one-third of the earths surface. Tundra's are extremely cold with low biotic diversity.
Biomes are geographical areas which are similar climatically. There are far more than six Biomes on the Earth. Some of these might be ice desert, Alpine tundra, Montane forests, Subtropical dry forest.
Biomes are climatically and geographically defined as similar climatic conditions on the Earth, such as communities of plants, animals, and soil organisms and are often referred to as ecosystems.
These are broadly based on two: or water and terrestrial systems. And further divided into these 6:
1. The Forest Ecosystems
2. The Desert Ecosystem
3. The Grassland Ecosystem
4. The Mountain Ecosystem
5. Aquatic Ecosystems
6. The Marine Ecosystem
