Stealing sweets as an adolescent and getting caught is almost a rite of passage. I did it too when I was as kid, and I got caught too. Most times it goes no further than telling your parent or guardian and leaving them the choice of punishment.

But even if it goes official; the Young Offender Act allows that all of your misdeeds committed as a youth are forgiven and your records are sealed so that your 'crimes' don't follow you into adulthood and mess up your chances for becoming a responsible citizen.
