I have 1999 e320 and have been experiencing same problem of "Light defective ' coming on on the dash board. What I discovered is the death of some bulbs. Because of this, my trafficator speed is a bit faster. My back license plate light bulb and the bulbs that come on when the doors are opened are gone as well. Check all your lights and see if this works. All the best. I am not a mechanic. All the best.
