No. No vaccine should be given in gluteal region. You may give the vaccine in fatty tissue, which will make it useless.
what anatomical term is used to describe the gluteal region on the surface of the body
As the Gluteal Region has high Deposition Of Fat which makes improper Absorption of the Vaccine,so its not a preferred site thats it........
There are four accepted body sites for Intramuscular injections. 1.The central region of the Deltoid muscle of the shoulder. This area is for only small injections of 1 ml or less, ie for vaccinations. The other three regions are all in the lower body area. 2. The middle of the thigh in the Vastus Lateralis muscle of the quadriceps muscle group of the upper leg . 3 The Ventrogluteal muscle in the hip on the side of the hip. 4. The Dorsogluteal muscle of the buttocks. Divide one buttock into four quadrants upper and lower. The injection should always be in the upper quadrant.
by doing exercise
The four main intramuscular injection muscles are the deltoid muscle, vastus lateralis muscle, ventrogluteal muscle, and dorsogluteal muscle. While the deltoid muscle site is the upper arm region, the vastus lateralis muscle site is on the thigh. The ventrogluteal muscle is the hip, and the dorsogluteal muscle is situated on the buttock area.
PCH Answer: The Buttocks Gluteus maximus is the largest and most superficial muscle in the buttock. It is attached to the Ilium bone( part of the pelvis), the Sacrum, the side of the Coccyx via the Sacrotuberus ligament and apponueroses ( the Gluteal apponeurosis and the Erector spinae). The muscle fibres pass down at an angle and attach to the Iliotibial tract of the Fascia Lata, the deep fibres of the muscle attach to the Gluteal tuberosity of the Femur.
•Parenteral -Intravenous route •Direct injection of drug into the blood therefore better regulation of therapeutic levels. •The First pass effect is avoided and by-pass all barriers •Rapid drug action •Used when drug irritates the tissue •Increased risk of infection, Pain at site of injection, increased risk of overdose. -Intramuscular route •Injection into the deltoid muscle region or gluteal mass. •Rate of absorption determined by blood flow to muscle. •Used for injection of suspensions and sustained effects •Avoid the First pass effect -Subcutaneous route •Injection into the subcutaneous areolar tissue and skin capillaries •Implants produce slow release of drug and constant absorption into the blood. •Avoid First pass effect •Rate of drug absorption is influenced by blood flow to the skin. Drug absorption is slower than I.M. -Intradermal route •Injection into the epidermis of the skin. •Small amounts of drugs are administered, ie. Local anesthetics, tuberculosis test. •Avoid First pass effect
The medical terms:ButtocksMaximus Gluteus (large muscles of buttocks)Gluteus Medius (smaller muscles of buttocks)Anus (opening)Rectum (lowest part of intestine leading to anus)Gluteal cleft, natal cleft, vertical gluteal crease (for the "crack" between the buttocks)
there is no CPT code for hardware injection of screws or any thing else, however from the coding point of view, we will issue 22899 for injection of hardware for the spinal region, while 64999 for the nervous system
