First, there were no 1908 Lincoln cents. The coin was first issued in mid-1909.
Next, you need to know the coins' conditions: "G"ood is actually very worn, "F"ine is moderately worn, "VF" (Very Fine) has only slight wear, and "EF" (Extremely Fine, also shown as AU or XF) is like new.
Finally, determine whether there is a mint mark under the date. For 1909 coins, you also have to check whether they have the designer's initials ("V. D. B.") on the back near the rim at the bottom.
