Check the oil level, and may need an oil change. It would run better with new oil. The idle may be set low, or cheap fuel. Put some premium fuel. It would help if you change the fuel filter. (~ $4 at Walmart for the part). It's an easy replacement, clamps on, off.
Is the check engine light on? May be a misfire, may need a tune up.
