The Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute are both classified in the Working Group (UK) and were both originally bred to pull sleds in cold regions. They are different as the Alaskan Malamute is usually taller and heavier than a Siberian Husky, plus the Siberian Husky can have blue eyes; whereas the Alaskan Malamute cannot.

What is the Siberian malamutes height?

The ''Siberian Malamute'' is not a breed, you could be thinking of either Siberian Huskies or Alaskan Malamutes (which are two separate breeds). The official Alaskan Malamute breed standard stipulates that it should grow between 23 and 28 inches at the shoulder. The official Siberian Husky breed standard says that it should grow between 20 and 23.5 inches at the shoulder.

What are the differences between a malamute and a husky?

Alaskan Malamutes *Only have brown eyes *Built for bulk. Not speed *Wider Siberian Huskies *Only have blue eyes (some may also have brown eyes but that's only if they're a mix between Malamutes and Huskies) The information re: eye color in Siberians, above, is absolutely incorrect. The Siberian Husky may have brown, eyes, blue eyes, or eyes that are part brown and part blue. Eye color has nothing to do with whether or not they have been cross-bred with Alaskan Malamutes. There are tremendous differences between the two breeds. For details, visit akc.org and click on Dog Breeds. There, you can research the Official Breed Standard for each breed, and learn the characteristics of each. *Built for speed. Not bulk *Thinner

How much do Siberian husky Alaskan malamutes weigh?

Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes are two different breeds. They can be many different sizes depending on the mushers' breeding (assuming they're working dogs). Siberian males are usually between 45-60 and females between 35-50 pounds. Malamute males are usually between 75-90 pounds and the females between 65-80 pounds. Many of these dogs can get even bigger depending on what cargo they are hauling or smaller if they are racing, though, typically, you wouldn't race a Siberian or malamute anymore. Mostly just mixes now.
