There are usually six parts of a memorandum, or a memo. These are the heading and opening, context, task segment, summary, discussion segment, and the closing segment. Another part that may be added are necessary attachments, or attachments relating to what was discussed in the memo.
Technically there are only 4 parts to a memorandum. 1) The heading which consists of your distribution list, who it is from, the date and subject. 2) The body of the memo or text 3) the reference initial if you typed it, but didn't write it 4) notations - if necessary
When dividing a heading in an outline, it should be divided into two or more parts. Dividing means to separate.
