Try Checking in the engine compartment under the hood.
5 speed yes....automatic no
If your 1994 Honda Civic is unable to start, the problem could be a connector that is not well fitted from the transmission installation, especially if you just replaced your transmission.
What engines are they? If they are both D-series or bothe B-Series they will interchange.
S20 or S40
The speed sensor on a 1994 Honda Civic is located on top the of the transmission. To replace it unplug the sensor from the wire harness then the remove mounting bolts and assembly from the transmission.
If it does, look for trans lines going to radiator.
If it's a Manuel there isn't one but auto it's inside the transmission.

there is no dip stick for a manual transmission .there is a bolt on the side of the trans you have to pull then stick your finger in ..if you can touch it its ok
If it's an auto-trans you'll need to pull the pan.
