The crankshaft sensor on a 1999 Chevy Blazer is located on the bottom of the engine, near the oil filter. It connects to the vehicle's computer and constantly updates it on the crankshaft's position.

Some of the Chevy Blazers were made without the crankshaft sensor. You should have a cam sensor that works the same way. It is located on the passenger side under the 2nd spark plug from the front.
The crank shaft positioning sensor should be located at the front of the engine just below and to the left of the harmonic balancer. On the timing cover.
