If you climb up and lean over the engine and look at the right rear corner of the intake you will see the oil sending unit standing stright up with an electrical connector pluged into the top of it. Now just look to the left of it and you will see the camshaft sensor just tucked under the intake alittle bit and it will have an electricl wire pluged into it also. It is hard to see.
in my 98, Chevy siverado, c1500 2wd, 5.7L vortec, I found it located to the left (passenger) side of the manifold, near the throttle body. It can be identified by the vaccum line coming out the left side of the sensor, leading to the Vortec air box.
It's under the the plastic Vortec labeled cover on the top of the engine
you can't
On valley cover plate underneath intake manifold. Must remove intake manifold to get to them.
The Camshaft sensor is located in the distributor.
No cam sensor. Just a crank sensor on the bottom of the timing cover
in exhaust pipe in front of muffler / catalytic converter, changed mine yesterday.
The knock 1 sensor on a Vortec 4.8 is located on the top of the engine. You will have to remove the intake to gain access to replace it.
The sensor is down on the front of the oil pan just behind the crankshaft pully, which is located at the front of the engine.
it might be on the y pipe right before it splits, use ramps or jack to see it from the bottom.
