Damper? I assuming you are talking about the regulator it is usually on the upper intake connected to the fuel injector assembly.
Front of engine, passenger side, just behind the vibration damper, best accessed from underneath.
It is behind the distributor on the engine block. Not easy to get to, but it can be done.
Screewed into the top of the engine block just behind the distributor
inside lower front engine cover, back of damper(harmonic balance).
It is in the top back right side of the engine block. you will have to lean up over the engine to see it.
Behind the Distributer at the rear of the engine
The Chevrolet SSR oil pressure sensor is located on the right hand side of the engine. The sensor will be near the bottom of the engine block, just above the oil filter.
on the back of the engine. close to the center, but slightly on the engine's left side. Kinda behind the intake manifold.

The oil pressure switch on a 1997 Chevy Tahoe is located on the back of the engine. It is in the center-rear part of the engine.
