OK, you do have an owner's manual do you not? Open it and I am sure the location of the cartridge filter is listed in the manual. It does not have a screw on filter and the filter is located under the hood, under a plastic cover.

I do not know if the 2009 vibe has the same location as the 2004, but on my 2004 vibe the oil filter is between the bumper and the engine, but is above the oil pan. It is visible from both above and below and will likely be a white or blue cannister about the width of a soda can but somewhat shorter.

Little bit different from the previous versions. The filter is inside of a metal casing. You have to take the casing off. Then use this little plastic gadget to drain the oil from the filter first(comes with new filter) and the you can replace it.
