Geographic position is measured by Latitude and Longitude - it can only give positions on the face of the Earth. This position is shown on a flat representation.

A position on the outside of the earth is shown by 2 dimensions.

  • 2 dimensions need 2 coordinates for determining position
(That is, Latitude and Longitude.)

A position inside the sphere of the earth needs 3- dimensions.

  • 3 dimensions need 3 coordinates
(That is, "X, Y, Z " ) (seriously!)

Therefore, the position of the centre of the earth is " 0, 0, 0 " [zero, zero, zero] degrees ECEF.
