I have one (J Stevens 22 "Favorite" 22LR) and I am going to be selling it. Are you looking to buy one or do you just need pics of one or ? ? This one is a hex barrel (removable once the pin on the bottom is unscrewed) in very good condition. All original. Serial number appears to be either 806 or 908 (depending on which way you have the gun facing).

I am also looking for this answer. According to this web site (http://www.cornellpubs.com/Templates/Savage-1966.htm) it was listed in the 1966 savage catalog. It also came in a youth model, Model 73Y.
Stevens Model 66 bolt action rifles were manufactured between 1930 and 1948. They were inexpensive meant as a starter rifle for a youth. Mine doesn't even carry a serial number on the receiver or barrel, so, it might be tough to pinpoint it's actual age. In Good condition would probably be valued at about $100 USD.

A 223 would be fine for a deer rifle but you need to make sure the (youth) person can hit the kill zone. I would suggest the 243.
You will need a gunsmith to know for sure.
25-180 or so
