Looking for a hairstyle to wear to prom any ideas for a short sixteen year old girl with long thick and very straight and very black hair and have always worn my hair straight down until now?

Really thick straight hair is quite versatile, so it depends on the look you want to go for and what kind of dress you've bought.
If you usually wear your hair straight down, maybe pulling your hair tightly back into an elegant bun the way Jennifer Lopez does sometimes (a sort of retro 1930s or 1940s look) might be an interesting change of pace.
Best talk to your hair stylist when you go in to do you hair--and bring a photo of your dress.
