The Ruger 1022 has proved to be reliable, accurate, and very durable. The stainless steel model is great if you live in a humid climate. They retain their value well, and they are inexpensive enough that a new one will cost little more than a used one. A scope is easy to mount, and it aims and shoots quickly. The Winchester 63 was probably the best 22 auto, but you will pay more than $500 now for one that is in good condition.
