you loose brake pressure when u start engine. this is supposed to happen. pedal will be hard until engine is started and the vaccuum pump works to assist the poer brakes
if the pedal goes to the floor , maybe you need to adjust the brakes. if the vaccuum pump is not working , it will feel like you are standing on a rock when you try to use brakes
a good indication of out of adjustment or worn brakes is to look at brake fluid resevior.if fluid is not at proper level, do not add fluid, but check and replace worn disk pads on front, and replace or adjust shoes on rear
