I had this problem and the manfold gasket was leaking I am aware of sensor issues with this but I has to replace the manifold gasket problem solved.
Belt slipping Did coolant get on belt during replacement?
It has one. Sometimes they get stuck on even after you add coolant. Tap on the reservoir until the light goes off. Or you could always unplug the connector at the bottle and the light will go off. That's at your own risk of course because you won't know when you're low on coolant.
you can't reset it, fill your coolant up full, both rad and overflow. the light will go out. if it is still on when everything is full, then your coolant sensor is broken or unplugged. if you light goes off then comes on again and your coolant is low, then you have a leak. if you have a 3400 engine in your lumina common leaks are intake gaskets, waterpumps, and head gaskets.
At the back of the engine on the coolant outlet that goes to the heater hoses on the firewall.
The coolant expands and rises when it is hot so it goes up, the coolant comes down when the car is cold.
usually when you add coolant light goes off Coolant sensor bad?
The coolant sensor is a common fault which causes this issue. You will need to replace the coolant expansion tank as the coolant sensor is built into the bottom of the unit.
The hose that goes from the overflow to the bottom of the radiator on a 2002 Windstar is the bypass hose. It allows coolant from the overflow to return to the radiator as it cools.
You have a failure in the communication system on the van. It will require a scan tool to diagnose.
not really. check that oil isn't in your coolant or coolant in your oil. the 3.1L engines seem to have a reputation for bad intake manifold gaskets.
A flame, a candle or a fire, a light.
When the cold light comes on it is because the Coolant/Antifreeze is still cold, and that you should drive moderately until the engine reaches normal operating temperatures. When it blinks blue it usually means that there is an electrical malfunction with the cooling system somewhere. (usually the coolant sensor goes bad) If the light blinks red then the car is overheating.
