i do not think he is lucky to learn of his future from the three witches. if he did not, maybe he would not have been so evil or miserable. maybe he would never have betrayed his king in the first place.

Why do Banquo and Macbeth react differently to the witches in Macbeth?

In Act 1 Scene 3 of the Shakespearean play, friends and fellow Generals Macbeth and Banquo met three witches. The witches hailed Macbeth as Thane of Glamis, which he already was; Thane of Cawdor, which he was unbeknownst to him; and King of Scotland, which he hadn't considered. Macbeth was shaken and then tempted by the predictions. The witches then hailed Banquo as lesser and less lucky but at the same time greater and more fortunate than Macbeth. They predicted great fortune for the royal line that would descend from him even though he'd be uncrowned. Banquo joked about the insanity of believing supernatural beings that came and went. He later warned of the hidden agendas of such beings.

How did the historical Macbeth die?

MacBeth's hubris causes him to believe himself invincible. He fights with MacDuff even after he learns that all the prophecies of the witches concerning his downfall are true. MacBeth is beheaded just like Macdonwald who was beheaded by MacBeth earlier in the play.Macbeth is killed because the guilt inside he could not handle the guilt that was inside of him so Macduff had found out that he was the murderer of the king so he had killed him. Actually, Macbeth did not believe himself to be invincible or he would not have bothered murdering his enemies. He just hoped he was invincible. Also, Macdonweald was not beheaded; he was "split from the nave to the chaps", from chin to belly button. And Macduff's main motive for killing Macbeth was not to avenge the murder of Duncan but the murder of Macduff's wife and children.
