post office
Before, the internet most messages were sent through the mail or via telegraph. Now, people can use e-mail to send messages or contact others through social networking websites, such as facebook. Messages are still sent through the mail today, but not as frequently as they were before the internet. However, many packages are sent through the mail because of people ordering items online.

Just as there is 'junk mail' to your e-mail account there is also 'junk messages' to your mobile phone. I have had several messages from the same number. I kept sending them back to the company who sent them to me - and the messages stopped
Messages that are sent through the internet are not typically traced to the sender's phone but can be traced through the receiver. Senders can be traced through the IP address of the computer that the messages were sent from.
Approximately 700 Billion messages are sent and received every day. Considering the global population of approximately 7 billion, we can conservatively assume that a minimum of 100 messages per person are sent, and that those messages are received by at least one other. This may include messages in the form of speech, sign language, poetry, song, email, texts, or even messages conveyed through gestures or facial expressions (as you did not specify any particular form).
I believe that it is simply taht. One mail icon shows as a sent and another shows as a recieved. There will be a difference in the mail picture like a green arrow pointing in and a red arrow pointing out. That is how it is with my message log. Another phone I have just has a sent folder and a inbox folder.
Domestic mail is sent to an received from the same country. Mail sent from Los Angeles to New York is an example.
You can set a reminder on your Google calendar to remind yourself to once a week/month to click "Sent Mail" then "All" then "Select all xxx conversations in Sent Mail" and then "Delete". Kind of a pain but takes less than 30 seconds.
