check for a short in door switches, the ones with the little buttons that go in when the door closes, just like a refrigerator.
I have the problem (i think) in my 1993 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM.
The switch is on the roof, above the center rear-view mirror. It's a simple rocker switch.
first check fuses, then bulbs, then reverse switch on trans mission,it might need replacing, its screw into your transmission.
I had the exact same problem with my 01 Trans Am and the problem for me was inside the steering column and I certainly didn't do it on my own.
A broken wire or short in the wiring.
Is the car in park? Do the lights turn on? If so are the dim, or bright? If no lights you likely have a dead battery. From there I would check fuses. Good luck.
I had the same problem with my 1987 Trans Am GTA. The turn signal indicator has gone bad and needs to be replaced. That will get the brake lights working again.
Probably the turn signal flasher
bad switch...check your fueses.. If you have a manual trans the switch in the top of the trans is bad. Look straigtht down from the back of the battery You will see a switch with a two wire plug in the top of the trans. shift tower Unplug the switch andf jump the two wires If your lights come on replace the switch
The first check would be the fuse for the dash lights. If the dash lights are out too then it is likely to be the fuse.
Fog lights burn out pretty fast, especially those high intensity ones. (A few months)-I own a '97 trans am as well.
same issue here as well... No answer yet, but i believe problem is in bcm... will update asap. And the bulbs check okay?
