A master cylinder? Mate don't bother.
It will cost approximately $400 to repair the lifters on your 2000 Toyota Camry. It can cost is much as $800 to repair the valves.
The cost of brake repairs depends on what kind of repair is needed. The simplest, least expensive brake problem is caused by low brake fluid. The repair consists of adding brake fluid and, if there is at least some brake fluid already in the master cylinder, the problem will be solved. Brake fluid costs about $15.00 per quart. If, however, the master cylinder is empty, pouring in fluid will trap air in the system, and it will cost a mechanics’ time to “bleed” the system. Repair shops typically charge around $50.00 per hour for the work of a mechanic. Brake pads need to be replaced after a certain number of uses. Normal rubbing against the pads will eventually wear them out. Brake pads can cost from around $50.00 to $75.00, depending upon the brand. With installation you can expect to spend around $100.00 having the pads replaced. If brake pads are not replaced when needed, they will be completely worn down and the underlying drum or disc will be worn down. Replacing the drum or disc is much more expensive, so it is important to replace the pads when they are worn out. It is a good idea to have them checked after every 20,000 miles. Prices for drums or discs vary among brands, but having them replaced by a mechanic can cost several hundreds of dollars. The master cylinder holds the brake fluid and sends it to each wheel cylinder when the brake pedal is pressed. The resulting pressure stops the car as long as there is brake fluid in an intact master cylinder. If the master cylinder is not working, the driver might have to press the pedal all the way to the floor to stop the car. This is a dangerous situation. Replacing a master cylinder can cost around $250.00. If all the above parts need to be replaced, including the master cylinder, discs, and drums, the price can be around $750.00, so it is a good idea to have your brakes checked periodically and not let needed repairs mount up. Repair companies such as Midas and Firestone offer brake inspections, or this inspection can be performed at a dealership or independent auto repair garage.
is it an automatic or standard?
about 1500 dollars
This depends on the needed repair, make model year and engine. Between $200 USD to $5000 USD
Could be a blown brake line or shot master cylinder. Have it serviced by a mechanic.
I can tell you that I am paying $600 for a new master cylinder (parts and labor) for my 2004 XC90. Supposedly the part is not remanufactured, but new (although I haven't verified that yet.) I was told ~2 hours labor.
You can search the web for "Air gun Repair" and find a shop that can fix it for you, but I suggest you purchase a new Grizzly, they cost around $45 new and the repair may cost you more than that.
Depends on who performs the repair, what make, model, and engine size, and if there was no damage to the head or not.
My dad got it done for about $150. It really depends on where you go though.
I just had to replace mine this week. I got mine at O'Reilly's for $25.
