If he or she is your child, generally yes you can. However, many people would not consider the inclusion of a child on a journey across state lines as a 'vacation' of any sort.
Generally, a parent can take the child for a visit to another state unless there is a court order that prohibits it. For example, lots of people travel across state lines to take a vacation at the seashore during summer vacation. If the parent who objects has a serious issue they would need to take it before a judge.
Yes. However, if there is a father around, he can file an injunction for the child to be returned.
I did
NO
Yes if the father has joint custody he may leave the state with the child for a short period for purposes of a vacation.
Yes it can.
I'm home schooled and I follow the vacation time of the state schools.
File a motion the enforce. Unlike court ordered visitation, child support is enforceable across state lines. Contact child support enforcement.
There is no such law. People who finance cars drive them across state lines regularly. They are not limited to driving in only their state of residence. There is no such law. yah.
Across state lines? To which state? There are no states that allows a 16yo get married without parental consent.
Yes, because she is a minor it would be considered kidnapping. Response : I posted the question, and we have already contacted the police and they are looking into the code, but evidently it is NOT considered kidnapping because it was not against her will. I don't understand how it is illegal for a non-custodial parent to take his OWN child across state lines without the custodial parents consent, but a guy can take MY child across state lines without my consent? There is something wrong here......
