if this is the problem where the engine warms up slightly and the temperature gauge jumps from cold to off the hot side, then this is a fairly common issue.
it is most likely caused by a faulty temp gauge sending unit or poor connection.
Because its not really a Mazda 626... Its a Delorian... ..
How much will it cost to replace a cank sensor on a Mazada 626?
Once a seatbelt starts sticking its gonzo and needs to be replaced.
you must remove the spedometer cable from the transaxle/ fill through here

Where could I find diagram for 2003 catalytic converter on a Mazada 6
Measure the temp of the upper radiator hose very close to the warmed up engine using an infrared temp gun. If the gun reads 190 to 200 (normal) and the vehicles gauge doesn't match, replace the temp gauge sending unit on the engine. Your local auto parts store will let you use a temp gun for zip.
you have to unbolt the caliper off the rotor, but not from the brake fluid line.
I'm not positive about the '99 model year, but the hydraulic clutch shares the fluid reservoir with the brake system in earlier Mazda models.
If a 1995 Mazda 626 Manual Transmission has the rpms jumping up and down when stopped and the temperature gauge runs hot all the time, it is possible that the engine has a cracked block. When the block is cracked, the engine will not build up enough compression to stay running and will not hold coolant long enough to keep the engine cool.
Leave idling, on level ground, at running temp
It really depends which sort of GAUGE you have. For example; you couldn't wire a volt meter to the oil pressure switch.
