McDonald's managers are responsible for the running and operations of the restaurant at all times. There are several levels of managers, like any company, and they each have different responsibilities accordingly:
"Swing Managers" or "Shift Managers" are responsible for running their shift
"Second Assistant Managers" assist the First Assistant Manager in the running of the store. Sometimes in exchange for one First Assistant there are two Second Assistants who report directly to the Restaurant Manager.
"First Assistant Managers" assist the Restaurant Manager with running the store. This person is the one who is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, retention, and discipline of all employees at any given restaurant.
"Restaurant Managers" run a restaurant, and are responsible for all of its operations, from complying with labour and food safety laws, to ensuring customers are handled appropriately and professionally.
