Michael Mullis, and friend Walter Macarthy, saved five lives while off duty.they worked as life guards for the town of Falmouth mass. it took place at towns Bristol beach, the mother fully clothed jumped into a rip tide to try and save her four children. Michael and Walter were summoned by Michael's younger sister to hurry to the beaches chanel where the five were out about fifty yards from shore. decisions had to be made in a split second. but the two boys did what was nessasary and all five had there lives back that night. this can be checked with the Falmouth Enterprise and Medford Mercury 08/1968Besso, family saved at Bristol beach Falmouth Mass.
