Miles driven per gallon of gasoline or diesel used. That is to say, if you only had one gallon of fuel, this is the distance you could travel. If you have two, then you could travel twice the distance, etc.
To calculate miles per gallon or MPG simply:
While at the gas station:
1. Fill gas tank completely, the same way you always do (whether you top it off or not).
2. divide amount on trip meter by the number of gallons you purchased. i.e. your trip meter says 481 and you purchased 17.34 gallons 481/17.34=27.74MPG
3. reset trip meter
Three simple steps. Though it won't be accurate if you don't reset your trip meter after each fueling.
20 miles to the gallon 20 miles to the gallon
15 miles to the gallon 15 miles to the gallon
(758 miles) x (4 dollar/gallon) / (14 miles/gallon) = $216.57 (rounded)
About 21.4 miles per gallon. (300/14 = 21.4)
Between 13 miles per gallon and 16 miles per gallon.
it can get 8 miles to the gallon
18.5 miles a gallon
(835 miles) x (1 gallon/20 miles) x (3.75 bux/gallon) = $ 156.56
34 miles per gallon = 54.72 kilometers per gallon.
10.3 miles @ 20 miles per gallon = 10.3/20 = 0.515 gallons.@ 3.96 a gallon that will cost 2.04 (approx).10.3 miles @ 20 miles per gallon = 10.3/20 = 0.515 gallons.@ 3.96 a gallon that will cost 2.04 (approx).10.3 miles @ 20 miles per gallon = 10.3/20 = 0.515 gallons.@ 3.96 a gallon that will cost 2.04 (approx).10.3 miles @ 20 miles per gallon = 10.3/20 = 0.515 gallons.@ 3.96 a gallon that will cost 2.04 (approx).
(2,700 miles) x (1 gallon/12 miles) x (2.70 $/gallon) = $607.50
