A minority.
A minority president is a president that gets elected with less than 50% of the popular vote. Abe Lincoln was a minority president, for example.
Majority-Minority Districts
The patterns of interaction between majority and minority racial and ethnic groups varies between groups. Many majority groups will look down on minority groups as if they do not have equal rights.
A constitutional republic. The word Democracy never appears in the constitution and as a matter of fact many of the founding fathers actually HATED democracy. This is because democracy states that 51% of the population can take away the rights of the 49. We are a republic, so minority rights are protected (we are all minorities with respect to something -- they were not referring to race or religion when speaking of minority rights). Democracy is a form of tyrany since a "bare" majority can override the will of 49%. It is true that a 'constitutional republic' is a FORM of democracy. But that's like saying the house and senate are the same because they both cast votes. False logic.

The opinions of the majority generally do not need extensive constitutional protection because they already have significant influence in a democratic society. Constitutional protections primarily aim to safeguard the rights and freedoms of marginalized or minority groups, who may face discrimination or oppression in the face of majority opinions. By protecting minority rights, the constitution ensures a more balanced and fair society.
Official language rights refer to the recognition and protection of languages designated as official within a country, often ensuring their use in government institutions and public services. Minority language educational rights pertain to the rights of minority language speakers to receive education in their own language, often including access to schools and resources to support language learning. These rights aim to promote linguistic diversity and preserve cultural heritage within a society.
Democracy, in the sense of government "by the people" includes protection of the certain rights of the minority through procedural safeguards. In this sense, it is distinguished from "mobocracy" (or "ochlocracy") which has no such guarantees.
